ALICE QUARMBY, PRINCIPAL
BSc Biodiversity & Conservation (Hons in Seed Biology)
Alice is an expert in native seed biology with 15 years experience with native seeds from across Australia (SA, WA, NT, NSW, QLD, Vic). She was initially trained by the Adelaide Botanic Gardens (Seed Conservation Centre) and Kew Botanic Gardens (UK) as part of the International Millennium Seed Bank Project. Alice was the Seed Bank Curator for the NT Govt. (2007-2011) (managing the N.T. partnership of the MSBP). She was then the Seed Lab Manager at Western Botanical (2011-2014, W.A.) before founding Swainsona Environmental Services in 2015. In 2017 Alice divided Swainsona Environmental Services into two divisions, with Swainsona Seed Services specialising in seed collection and seed testing activities, and Swainsona Environmental Services specialising in revegetation plans and revegetation performance assessment services.
Alice is a member of the Society of Australian Seed Analysts (SASA), Society of Commercial Seed Technologists (SCST) and the Revegetation Industry Association of Western Australia (RIAWA).
